What is Lino?

Lino is short for linoleum, a floor covering. Lino used to make prints can be purchased from art stores.

What is Lino Printing?

Linocut is a printmaking technique a  sheet of Lino  is used for the relief surface. A design is cut into the
Lino using carving tools. the raised areas, or the un-carved areas represent a mirror image of what will be printed. Once the design is carved the piece is is inked with a roller, and then printed onto paper or fabric. The actual printing can be done by hand or with a press.
